Lagos
based church, INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has commenced a monthly
payment for orphans and widowed women in the church. An insider revealed to
this magazine that the spiritual head of the ministry, Primate Elijah Babatunde
Ayodele, gave the directive for the process, having made the pledge a few weeks
ago.
According
to the source, concern for the poor and vulnerable has always mattered to Primate
Ayodele, hence his resolve to assist widows and widowers in dealing with all
the practical realities of life they have to face without their spouses.
Where
the women are often neglected or even shamed in the society, the source said
that INRI honours them by meeting their financial and spiritual needs.
“Religion
that is pure before our God and Father is, caring for orphans and widows in
their affliction… (James 1:27),” declared the famous prophet while distributing
the first salary to the recipients, promising it would be a lifetime benefit.
