Funmi Ayinke Appointed SDG Ambassador by Peace Corps of Nigeria *sets to drop new song

Funmi Ayinke

Maverick societal engineer and musician popularly hailed as FunmiAyinke, among friends and fans, has just been recently appointed an Ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the Peace Corps of  Nigeria.

A chronic goal-getter who has been driven right from her kid age to better the systemic structures, standards and styles of living in her society, Funmilayo Mary Waheed-Adekojo has never lost steam in her quest through her dynamic focus on the engineering profession, humanitarianism, music and philanthropy.

Born on the children's day May 27, 1983; she grew up always chasing and championing her dream of being a mechanical engineer and eventually she became that. Onwards she also became a fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, a fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, a fellow of the Institute of Management Specialists, a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, a chartered management consultant, and a project management professional.

She then founded FunmiAyinke Nigeria Limited and took position as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the multi-faceted engineering outfit duly certified by COREN, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.

However, driven further by her vocation to improve the systemic structures of her society and the standards and lifestyles of the individuals therein, she next founded the FunmiAyinke Humanity Foundation (FHF) and FunmiAyinke Records Label (FRL) successively.

Her emergence as an Amazon who is devoted to re-engineer her society through her mechanical profession, her humanitarian movement and her metro music, all for mankind, has not been an easy ride and rise, considering that she was born in 1983, only 39 years ago.

FunmiAyinke attended St. Thomas’ Primary School, Ikare Akoko, from 1988 to 1993; the Mount Carmel Secondary School, Ikare and Omolore Secondary School, Ogbagi Akoko, between 1993 and 2000, where she obtained her Primary School Leaving Certificate and Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), respectively.

A bundle of brains, beauty and courage, Funmilayo then attended the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, from 2001 to 2008 and graduated with Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering with Second Class (Hons,) Upper Division.

She thereafter started her National Youth Service course at the Ministry of Works and Housing, Gumel, Jigawa State. After nine months, she was redeployed to the Works and Services Department, University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, after which she had a brief stint at Adefun Investment, Ibadan, Oyo Sate.

Funmi’s engineering prowess was brought to the fore when she joined the services of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Here, she was made the Head of Mechanical Engineering Unit at the Works and Services Unit of the institution, where she handled numerous responsibilities covering diverse aspects of engineering.

Not someone to be glued to a regimented lifestyle and environment, and apparently in her insatiable drive to serve the society on a larger pedestal, Funmilayo floated the FunmiAyinke Nigeria Limited, now a fast growing engineering company that provides project management, consultancy services, supervision, design, processing and management of all organizational businesses on every aspect of mechanical, electrical and civil engineering works.

Under her able leadership, the company has distinguished itself in the area of construction of buildings, towers, roads and engineering surveying, facility management and public procurement training for all organizations, general supply of all goods, petroleum products and all types of vehicles.

Yet in her drive to contribute further societal change and positive developments to her environments; FunmiAyinke, as her adopted eponymous stage name, began her musical career in the early months of 2020, during the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

As a motivational writer, speaker and public figure who is compassionate with her gifts and her unquenchable desire for positive changes in humanity, she believes so much in the possibility of national development of Nigeria and in the possible reformation of lives especially of the oppressed and depressed Nigerian youths.

Usually to pass her motivational messages across to people, FunmiAyinke always says, "If they can’t read your caption, just sing it; they will listen”.

She underscores music as a strong channel to pass good messages across to her target audience. So, in October 2020, she released her debut single titled "It’s Our Time" during the #EndSars protests in Nigeria.

Obviously the song was released at a time most precise when Nigerians were yearning for new sounds to help them channel their message and funnel the effects of their protests, amidst the pandemic, to the right ears. The song echoed to Nigerians both home and abroad uncountably.

Singing further, FunmiAyinke hit more resonant notes and tones early in 2021 with the release of some new singles in both audio and visuals, featuring some legendary and A-list music artistes in the songs. Eventually in same year, the songstress whose alibis include #GodPikin and #OmoIyaTeacher dropped her first album screwed tightly with all of sixteen sweetly seasoned songs in both audio and visuals.

Thereafter and quite quickly, FunmiAyinke bagged some notable awards in the music entertainment industry, all within her starter's one year only.

Among others, the awards include
 the Best Inspirational Song of The Year 2020/2021 at The West Africa Gospel Music Awards 2021;
the Best Song Writer of The Year 2020/2021 by The West Africa Gospel Music Awards; the
Best Song Writer of The Year 2021 by City People Magazine 2020/2021; and the Best Inspirational Song of The Year also awarded by City People Magazine with her hit song, “I Can Make It”.

As a noteworthy mechanical engineer who is making remarkable professional impacts in her industry, FunmiAyinke has been factually recognized and honoured as the Ambassador to the NORD Automobile Company.

And for the remarkable humanitarian and philanthropical impacts she has been making in her society as a societal engineer, she has recently been honoured and appointed as an Ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the Peace Corps of  Nigeria.

With this new honour in her kitty, the emerging Amazon of mechanical and societal engineering has further gained attention – and earnest public expectations - in her quest for a better society with innovative systemic structures and improved standards and styles of livelihood.

Healthwise: What Sugar from Fruits Does to Your Body

The sugar in fruit is a natural sugar, which is harmless. Many health experts believe that eating more fruit is good for the body.

Fruit sugar is a mixture of fructose, glucose and sucrose, which is much lower in sugar than most sweet snacks.

Most importantly, The Body Metabolizes Fruit Sugars Differently Than Processed or Added Sugars.

The body breaks down processed or added sugars quickly, causing blood sugar levels to spike and excess sugar to be converted into fat and stored.

However, fruits contain not only sugar, but also high amounts of nutrients such as dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fats, which slow down the digestion and absorption of sugar into the bloodstream.

A 75-year study of 500,000 people by British and Chinese scientists found that people who ate one serving of fruit a day had a much lower risk of developing various chronic diseases than those who rarely ate fruit.

Tinubu's Ally, Tayo Ayinde, Fingered in Land Grabbing Mess

The incessant issue of Lagos State officials meddling in the affairs of landowners and their wanton and indiscriminate destruction of properties among other vices was brought to the fore following an unauthorised demolition and sealing off of a property, belonging to Chief Adetunji Omisore and one Tajudeen Mohammed, at No. 4, Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday July 19, 2022. #4Ladoke

Fingered in this allegation and alleged to be playing prominently in this saga is the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State governor, Tayo Ayinde, the owner of Watercrest Hotel and numerous choice properties around the Lagos metropolis, who lives opposite the above-mentioned address, precisely occupying No.5, Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA Ikeja.

According to an information available to the press, the Lagos State Building Control Agency, LSBCA, served the owner and developer of the said property a 7 day demolition notice on Friday, July 15, 2022.

On Monday, July 18, the developer approached the general manager of LSBCA, Gbolahan Oki, who was recently reinstated after he was suspended by the governor, for clarification on the illegal action. Note that the property in question is under the authorisation and jurisdiction of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Oki was temporarily booted out when a high-rise block of luxury flats under construction in the neighbourhood of Ikoyi collapsed, killing at least 42 people in November 2021.

The owners' efforts to prove to the agency that they have the approved documents on the said land fell on deaf ears as the owner was kicked out of the office of the general manager and ordered to send the document through official channel channel the following day.

However, without waiting for the 7 day notice to lapse, on Tuesday, July 19, the agency moved caterpillar and black maria to the site to begin demolition of the over N500million investment as early as 6:00am in the morning, barricading the property while the workers were assaulted.

Not only were those who made attempts to record the illegal activities of the policemen attached to the governor's office beaten, their gadgets were also confiscated.

It took the intervention of the Presidential Committee on Lease in Abuja to put a stop to the demolition after frantic calls were made to them. By then, a new six-bedroom bungalow, a penthouse, the reception of the hotel building among other things had been leveled down on the 3800 square metres property.

An official at the Lagos State Building Control, who craved anonymity, informed the media that Tayo Ayinde gave Oki directive for the demolition of the structure.

It was also alleged that after the sealing of the property when demotion was halted by the federal government, the Chief of Staff, who is also a close ally of the leading presidential candidate of All Progressives Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, allocated a portion of the property to a construction company awarded the contract of reconstructing the road covering the whole stretch of Ladoke Akintola Street, as site office.

From all indications, it is becoming glaring that Tayo Ayinde's activities is allegedly adding to the long list of nefarious state-backed land-grabbing nightmares.

Wale Mogaji's Many Sins: How He Fell as Lagos Assembly Commission Chairman

Wale Mogaji; sacked

On Tuesday, July 14, 2022, the Lagos State House of Assembly, at its plenary for that day, made some appointments and elevations in accordance with the law guiding its operations. One of such appointments was that of the Clerk, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko. Mrs. Folashade Latona was elevated and named the new Secretary of the Lagos House of Assembly Commission (LAHASCOM). Three others were approved as Deputy Clerks.

Until that day, Onafeko had been carrying out the duties of the Clerk in acting capacity.

Then, the axe fell on Chief Wale Mogaji, Chairman of the Commission. With a unanimous voice by every lawmaker present at the sitting, the House removed Mogaji taking cognisance of the section of the LAHASCOM law which stipulates how he should be removed or cease to be recognised as Chairman.

Mogaji had been appointed for an initial four-year term. With the expiration of the term, the House leadership led by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, had magnanimously secured him one extra year before renewing his appointment for a second term.

However, the House had decided to play down the actual reasons for the unanimous decision to send Mogaji packing, maybe to keep what remained of his integrity.

Findings have now shown that Mogaji was to face two panels over some infractions. He arrogantly dishonoured the first panel and instigated other commissioners in LAHASCOM not to honour same. A WhatsApp message he sent to the commissioners read: "Pls, not under any pretext must any commission member who knows his onion attend any committee set up by House of Assembly. We must not relegate ourselves to a group that is supposed to be our employee. Let us protect the dignity of the commission and also protect our own dignity."

Unfortunately, this position of his, gave him up as one who had no understanding of the very law setting up and regulating LAHASCOM and stipulating how the commission is under the Assembly (the lawmakers), which has the power to appoint the Chairman and members of the Commission as well as oversight and authority over its operations.

Realising his error, it was learnt that he tendered a written apology. Then he decided to honour a new committee headed by the Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Noheem Adams.

His Sins
The committee set up, was to consider the allegations against Mogaji following series of petitions by staff of LAHASCOM, some of whom threatened to resign if nothing was done.

Mogaji, according to some of the petitions, singlehandedly employed workers without recourse to the Assembly or in accordance to with the LAHASCOM law.

He had often made personal decisions without recourse to extant laws and against the collective decision of other Commission members. In a particular instance a staff was suspended for six months which is contrary to the maximum three months stipulated in the Public Service Rules. When confronted with this allegation, a video of one of the sessions by the committee saw him admitting and saying he was not aware that he had no such powers.

Mogaji was further alleged to have converted one of the official vehicles meant for senior officers to his son's personal use and still went ahead to use the resources of the Commission to maintain it against the rules. This, he also admitted to when he faced the panel.

Among other allegations, he was accused of sitting on the welfare and promotion of some staff.

On several occasions, other Commission members had lodged complaints that he ran the Commission like a personal estate and never involved them in any official matters and even when decisions are to be made, he overruled them at will and took vital decisions unilaterally.
Beyond these was his failure to hold meetings with the commissioners till the day he left office.

The Decision
Admitting to the allegations, the committee, which sat at least three times, was able to extract evidences from staff, commission members and others.

With the amount of evidence before the committee, Mogaji was found guilty and recommended for removal, a decision the House acted upon saying this was in the best interest of the Commission and the State.

IBEDC Rolls Out Mobile Map for Customers to Get Meters in 24 Hours

Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), on Wednesday, rolled out a Mobile Map for its customers to get meters in 24 hours.

The event, flagged off by the company at its headquarters in Ibadan, was followed by road walk within the metropolis.

Business manager, IBEDC, Ojoo Business Hub, Mr Joel Orjiakor, said that IBEDC customers within Ibadan metropolis could now get pre-payment meters easily.

“This is a ground breaking achievement for the company, the contractor, the customers and the economy.

“Getting meters used to be a major challenge in time past but now, we are relieved that within some days, one can get a pre-payment meter installed.

“Some anxious customers had fallen victims of some dubious elements who would promise to help them get meters without any result.

Mr Samuel Ojeabu, a businessman at Ojoo area, said that he was very happy to get a pre-payment meter, saying that it would enhance the smooth running of his business.

“This is good because I will only pay for the light I use; no more estimated billing. The process of getting the meter has been simplified; within two days, you can get it.

“If this can go round, people’s problems would be solved to some extent, because when they have, light they can work and make money and this will invariably make the economy of the country to grow.

Kehinde Aramide, who represented Prodigy Global Services Limited, a vendor of IBEDC, said that the new meter was made to be durable, as it had passed through quality assurance tests from the Federal Government, the manufacturers and the users

Tribunal to Rule on MultiChoice Price Increase Monday

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, adjourned ruling in the matter between an Abuja-based lawyer, Festus Onifade, Coalition of Nigerian Consumers, and pay TV service provider,  MultiChoice Nigeria, Limited, till Monday.

This was the outcome at a sitting, which dragged till late on Thursday

At the hearing, MultiChoice asked the tribunal to decline to hear the suit challenging the increase of the subscription fees for its television services on grounds of jurisdiction.
Onifade and the Coalition of Nigeria Consumers had dragged  MultiChoice, the operators of DStv and GOtv platforms, to the Tribunal following the announcement by the company in March 2022 that the subscription rates for the various bouquets on its platforms will go up on 1 April 2022.

In the suit in which the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Council is the second defendant, Onifade prayed the tribunal for an order restraining MultiChoice from increasing the subscription rates for its services and other products pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice dated and filed on March 30.

The claimant also asked the Tribunal to make an order directing MultiChoice to adopt pay -as- you -the view subscription model for its pay-TV services.

The Tribunal had in its ruling on the ex-parte application on 30 March directed the parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the whole suit.

Onifade had during the hearing of the suit on  April 11, indicated that he had filed a written address and contempt proceedings against MultiChoice for allegedly disregarding the tribunal's order not to increase its subscription rates made on March 30.

At the resumed hearing of the suit on Thursday, the tribunal took all pending applications.

Key was the application by MultiChoice challenging the jurisdiction of the Tribunal to hear the suit.

Barrister Jamiu Agoro, counsel to the pay television service provider, argued that the Tribunal cannot hear the suit because, by Section 47 of its Act, it can only listen to appeals on matters that have been decided on by the FCCPC.

Agoro argued that if the claimant feels aggrieved by the decision of MultiChoice, he should have approached the FCCPC with his grievance. He added that it is after the Commission has ruled on the matter that he can approach the Tribunal if he is not satisfied with the ruling.

Agoro also argued that the application for contempt filed against it by Onifade is incompetent because it was not personally served on the company.

The company also argued that while the preservative order was made on  30 March 2022 when the order it ought to preserve had already been perfected and completed.

It, therefore, said "granting the application will set a dangerous precedent that a party could be penalized for an order already completed."

The company also argued that it cannot be held in contempt for an order which it has already asked the Tribunal to set aside."

While disagreeing with the submissions of MultiChoice lawyer, Onifade urged the Tribunal to grant requests of the claimants to preserve its integrity and engender confidence in consumers across the country about its capability to protect them.

However, the Tribunal was forced to adjourn as the MultiChoice lawyer said he is not ready to reply to the originating summons filed by the claimant. Agoro had told the Tribunal that he thought only the various applications were scheduled for hearing on Thursday.

But the three-member tribunal headed by Thomas Okosun said there was an order for counsels to the parties to argue on all the applications and the originating summons at Thursday's hearing.

Consequently, the Tribunal said its ruling/decision on the applications taken on Thursday, will be contained in the judgment to be delivered in the case after an argument on the originating summons that was adjourned to Monday, 25 July.

MTN Makes U-Turn, Admits Not Paying N757.7bn Tax To FIRS

Nigeria’s biggest network provider, MTN Nigeria has reversed itself on the claims that it remitted N757.5bn to the Federal Government in 2021.

The company said last week that the actual amount paid to the tax authority- the Federal Inland Revenue Service in 2021 was N291.67bn.

“Without prejudice but specific to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), direct remittances by the company to FIRS in 2021 was N291.7bn. While the balance represents VAT, levies, fees and duties paid to other Federal Government agencies.,” MTN reversed earlier claims.

The telecom firm said VAT on revenue paid to the government was N98.99bn; Withholding tax N71.17bn and companies Income Tax N99.28bn.

It revealed that Stamp Duties remitted was N8.47bn, Tertiary Education Tax was N10.64bn, while Information Technology Levy paid was N3.1bn.

On April 2, 2022, MTN company’s secretary, Uto Ukpanah, had said N757.7bn was remitted to the FIRS making it the highest single contributor to Nigeria’s tax in 2021.

Ukpanah said MTN paid the amount in direct and indirect taxes to the FIRS in the 2021.

MTN specifically claimed it paid N618.7bn in direct and indirect taxes to the FIRS.
“In 2021, MTN Nigeria’s total tax contribution to all government agencies including the FIRS amounted to N757.6bn while FIRS collected a total of N6.4trn tax revenue in the year.

“Specifically, MTN Nigeria paid a total of N618.7bn in direct and indirect taxes to the FIRS in the 2021 tax year, representing approximately 13.5 per cent of the total FIRS collection for the year,” the telco had said.

At the National Tax Dialogue Event organised by FIRS in April, the company was applauded as the most tax compliant organisation among the top 20 taxpayers in Nigeria for the 2021 tax year.

MTN’s 2021 Audited Financial Statement, revealed a 22.90 per cent growth in revenue from N1.35tn to N1.65tn.

The company reported a 45.5 per cent surge in net profit of N298.65bn, up from N205.21bn in 2020.

APC Unveils Kashim Shettima as Tinubu’s Running Mate

Tinubu (right) and Shettima

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has unveiled Kashim Shettima as the running mate to Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 election.

Mr Shettima, a former governor of Borno State and serving senator, was unveiled at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Wednesday.

The unveiling comes despite fierce criticisms trailing his choice as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling party on July 10 in Daura in Katsina State.

Both Messrs Tinubu and Shettima are Muslims.

Some members of the party criticised the choice, tagging it as “Muslim/Muslim.”

Among those who fiercely opposed it were a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Mr Tinubu’s ally, Babachir Lawal, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

However, the pair received approval from others.

Mr Tinubu had earlier announced Ibrahim Masari as his running mate in ‘placeholding’ capacity,

Despite the criticisms Mr Shettima’s pick, Mr Tinubu, at the event, said his recruitment and political decisions have always been on certain principles that are “non-negotiable”.

“All my life, my decisions regarding the team I am around and those I work with is guided by the principle of competence, innovation, compassion, integrity and adherence to excellence. In politics, those principles are non-negotiable. Without them, there cannot be victory, there can be no joy,” he said.

Speaking on the controversy over his faith, Mr Shettima said some persons also dispensed similar bigotry ahead of the APC primaries in June but the outcome showed that Nigerians are rational people.

“We all witnessed the decisive blows dealt the bigotry dispensed by a hopeless minority, ahead of the APC presidential primaries, last June. The futility of their propaganda, showed that Nigerians aren’t the unthinking robots some are quick to call them. Nigerians are rational beings with the capability to tell an invidious agenda apart, from sincere concern for them.

“They are not the uncritical consumers of clickbait and falsehoods, as some of us think they are. They see through the bigots, masquerading as patriots and, very importantly, they know those who represent their interests, even in the quietest and darkest of meeting rooms,” Mr Shettima said.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu, said even though the choice of running mate is an exclusive right of the presidential candidate, he consulted stakeholders and President Muhammadu Buhari.

He noted that the party will “wholly and unconditionally accepts his choice.”

Mr Adamu also appealed to those that contested the APC ticket with Mr Tinubu to ”purge themselves” of the loss at the recent APC convention.

“It is time to purge ourselves of the bitterness arising from our individual losses in the party primaries. It is time to submit ourselves to the will of God and the party and do nothing to sabotage its well-laid plans for victory.

“The other political parties want what we want, and that is, to win and form the next government. So, we must not by any acts of omission or commission give in to bitterness and pettiness or fail to see the larger picture."

Buhari to Shettima: I Will Hand Over to You and Tinubu

President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday, hailed the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Kashim Shettima, following hi unveiling by the party’s presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.

According to a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President spoke when he received Shettima at the Presidential Villa hours after he was unveiled by the leadership of the party as Tinubu’s running mate.

The statement is titled ‘President Buhari to Kashim Shettima: I will respond to you when I am handing over to you and your boss.’

Reacting humorously to a flowery speech by the new VP candidate, the President said “I will respond to your speech when I am handing over to you and your boss. God willing, you are going to win.”

“I wish you the best. Your consistency in the party is very respectful.  You served your two terms as Governor and finished well. You have kept touch with your base. At every important occasion or event, you are maintaining support for the one who succeeded you. This is commendable,” Buhari added.

In his remarks, the vice presidential candidate thanked the President for his “empathy, support and positive role,” leading to his emergence as running mate to the APC presidential candidate.

He praised the President for having “a special place in your heart for Borno and North-East,” adding, “I can cite 20-30 instances of support you have rendered, for which you will be remembered.”

Citing the establishment of the North-East Development Commission, and the Independent Power Plant for Maiduguri by the NNPC, Shettima said “after many years of darkness, words cannot describe our appreciation of your support. We will remain eternally grateful.”

The former Governor of Borno State also requested the President to appreciate his successor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, who was in his company, along with the Minister of State, Agriculture, Mustapha Shehuri, for spurning “recurring mention” of him and pressure from his Governor colleagues to bid for the vice presidential ticket.

He promised that his vice presidency would not be for the “troika of Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri,” but for all Nigeria, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or geographical place of origin.

Speaking shortly after the visit, Shettima told journalists that he “felt morally bound” to thank the president personally, before returning with a larger delegation on Friday.

Reacting to agitations over the Muslim-Muslim ticket floated by his party, he said the APC ticket is not designed to protect the interests of one faith as there are religious leaders to do that.

“In Borno, we spent over N1bn naira rebuilding churches destroyed by the Boko Haram insurgency. And this legacy has been continued by Governor Babagana Zulum. We have taken more Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem than some of the Northern states headed by Christians.

“So, we have that history of inclusivity, of togetherness. What we need is competent leadership. We are not coming into government to represent the Muslim or the Christian faith. The Sultan of Sokoto is eminently qualified to protect Muslim interests and the CAN president is eminently qualified to defend Christian interests as well,” he said.

God Directed Me to Bless Peter Obi for 2023 Elections, Says Pastor Okafor

As preparations for the forthcoming general elections gather momentum, prominent Nigerians have continued to make comments on who will lead Nigeria to a better destination and improve the economy come 2023.

Some say for Nigeria to reclaim its past glory, preparations for a better tomorrow starts now, with your PVC you can decide, how the next four years will look like.

A clergy and popular Global Prophet, Dr Chris Okafor of Grace Nation international aka Liberation City has also made his own pronouncements on the fourthcoming general election in 2023.

Speaking at a church service recently, the Generational Prophet of God as he is fondly called declared that for 2023 Presidential elections, All Progressive Congress Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed is good.

According to Prophet Okafor, he said he has no problem with him; "The APC presidential candidate have really done well with human capacity building".

The Man of God also remarked that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar too is a very successful entrepreneur with his numerous companies that gave thousands of Nigerians employments. "He is good also but specifically God directed me to pray for Peter Obi against any form of conspiracy before and shortly after the presidential election".

"I saw flag being given to Peter Obi but immediately he wanted to receive the flag, many forces rise up against him, they want to stop him from receiving the flag, but the good news was that they all failed".

"The recent victory of am opposition party in a South West state affirmed the beginning of change many Nigerians are yearning for, there will be change of Power in Nigeria". Prophet Okafor declared.

Dr Chris Okafor stated further that Peter Obi possesses all the necessary requirements to move the nation forward but there will be forces that will want to rise against the mandate Elohim has given him to help restructure the country, this was the reason why God directed me and the entire church to pray for Mr Peter Obi

"Unapologetically, I will remain obidient to the instructions of the Almighty God, Every gathering that is not of God against Peter Obi will not stand, there will be attempt to conspire against Peter Obi, but the attempt will fail, whatever the Lord did not approve will not stand but the one God approves and whatever evil plans against such movement is dead on arrival, Dr Chris Okafor remarked.

HOW THEY MET

Ashley Robert

Last year, I met my future husband at a surprise party on January 22nd, 2021. It was a surprise party for his best friend and now best man whose girlfriend had invited me. I had weekend classes and was reluctant but I went regardless. As the birthday boy walked in, behind him came Temi who I glanced at because of his smile. I stayed on the further end of the kitchen and soon enough he came and found a reason to speak to me. We spoke the whole night and when it was time for me to go, he walked me to my car and busted his famous Michael Jackson moves lol.

He took my number and texted me the very next day. He quickly told me he's not the texting type and called me immediately through Facetime. From the very beginning, he had been direct and detailed with every single thing and I think that focus, precision, and consistency encouraged me to give him all my attention. From our first date on February 6th to our conversations about the future, there was no ounce of confusion.

I remember making jest of his Instagram page where he posted a lot of jokes, I had even told my friend I couldn't take him seriously and before too long he showed me all he was about in plain sight and now here we are, getting ready to walk that aisle!

What's magical and definitely God divine is, that we wanted the same things, hated and loved the same things even down to the details of our lifestyle. I used to say I finally found someone funnier than me that would always make me laugh. Knowing what we both wanted as individuals before coming together is so key in this journey. Our coming together only allowed us to further develop each other and build the start of something special, strong and God-centered.

Temiloluwa Ayodele

Where do I begin…… So, I was asked to distract my best friend (now best man) for his surprise party on January 22, 2021. It had been a long day at work, so I was pretty upset I had to drive an hour n a half to pick him up, and then go to a hookah bar. The whole time we were at the bar, I just kept thinking “I hope there are correct babes at this place lol”. Sure enough, I walked in, they turned the lights on, and everyone screamed “surprise !!”; My eyes immediately gravitated toward a beautiful woman in the corner of the room. It was like heaven opened up and God shined his torchlight directly on her because she was damn near glowing that day. I immediately made sure I marked my territory for anyone else thinking the same thing. I waited a couple of minutes and went over to her and we started talking. It was history after that; We spoke the whole night, played games, and as a part of the game we played, she ordered an item from amazon from my phone which I may not be able to disclose at the moment lol. She had class early in the morning the next day but we were both reluctant to leave.

It didn’t take long before I knew she was the one, the missing piece, and the last part of the puzzle. From our conversations about God, the future, and the fact that she didn’t sell lashes lol, I was pretty much sold on her very early. Every single one of our thought processes aligned down to the type of flooring we would want in a kitchen. I always wanted a proverbs 31 Woman, so I gave her a little quiz on it. I asked her to go through the whole verse and tell me how it related to her as a Woman. Her answers blew me completely away. We went out on our first date, and everything seemed so natural like we had been dating for years. This feeling never departed from me as much as I tried to avoid it lol. Till today to the glory of God, she has been consistent, caring, loving, and above all God-fearing. I truly thank God for the day he brought her into my life and I pray He continues to bless and grow our union according to His will IJN.

The Darker The Night… Apostle Suleman Shares Personal Breakthrough

This story told by Apostle Johnson Suleman about an amazing breakthrough he encountered in the beginning of his life with Christ, really sums up the essence of Christianity. The account suggests that, indeed, first it was night. Then there was light. According to him, the light of Christ broke through the darkness for him in want, and the glory of the Lord shone round him thereafter.

The servant of God who is the senior pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide, shared the encounter that was centered around his beautiful wife, Reverend Lizzy Suleman’s taste for original things. It was about having the courage to demand of God for one’s needs. “Let no one discourage you or pull you away from asking for your needs,” Suleman counsels, adding that, “Christians always win in the end, no matter how long and how hard the path may be.”

He tells his story;

“When I got married, my wife liked new things. If my wife should want anything, it has to be brand new. She doesn’t like anything that is already used. I used to like tokunbo (second hand) cars.

My first and second cars were second hand. Of course, my wife agreed that they were okay but she said she would rather we had new cars.”

“When she became persistent about her desire for a new car, it got me annoyed and I told her ‘car is car, so long it can carry us about’. One time, we were driving around and my wife spotted a new Corolla car and said ‘that car is fine and new’. I was embarrassed. I did not have money for a brand new car, still I went to ask for the cost of that particular car and I was told it cost four million naira.  I thought it was something I could afford so that I could surprise her with it. I was wrong. I said God  forbid, what am I doing with a four million naira car.

“A year later, I went to ask for the cost of that same car, I was told it was now six million. I was down but I had hope that it wasn’t beyond what God could do. I was praying and hoping for God. One day, I was sitting alone and somebody walked up to me. He said he was from Port Harcourt. He brought out a car key and handed it to me. I followed him outside and it was that particular type of car, a brand new Corolla! I called my wife when I got home and gave her the car key. She was shocked. Then she asked if I bought it? I said no, I got it.”

In essence, Apostle Suleman said, he is asking true Christians who seem hopeless, merely trudging on and whose ways may seem dark, to know that the darker the night, the greater the light. “When it goes hard for the world, it goes soft for true believers. The darker the night, the brighter the light. For the path of the just is like a shining light,” he reassures.
