Army Speaks: "Buhari Obtained WASC in 1961"

The Nigerian Army said it did not have the original, certified true copy or statement of results of retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate for the February general elections.
Director of Army Public Relations, Brig-. Gen. Olajide Laleye, said this while briefing newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
Laleye said that the entry made on the Nigerian Army Form 199A at the point of documentation after Buhari was commissioned as an officer, indicated that the former Head of State obtained the West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1961
"With credits in relevant subjects: English Language, Geography, History, Health Science, Hausa and a pass in English Literature.
Laleye said that the army holds the retired senior officer in high esteem and respect and would not be a party to any controversy surrounding his eligibility for any political office.
He said that suffice to state that Buhari rose steadily to the enviable rank of Major General before becoming the Head of State of the country in December 1983.
"The media hype on the retired Buhari's credentials as well as numerous requests made by individuals and cooperate bodies to the Nigerian Army on this issue have necessitated that we provide the facts as contained in the retired senior officer's service records.

"Records available indicate that Buhari applied to join the military as a form six student of the Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, on Oct. 18, 1961.
"His application was duly endorsed by the principal of the school, who also wrote a report on him and recommended him to
be suitable for military commission.
"It is a practice in the Nigerian Army that before candidates are shortlisted for commissioning into the officers' cadre of the service, the selection board verifies the original copies of credentials as presented.

Apostle Suleman Shakes Uganda With Miracles And Lectures

That lectures by Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor at the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide, largely arouse emotions and touch on morals, personal

issues and spiritual struggles, is not in doubt. Everywhere he goes with his team of dedicated ministers of God, the atmosphere is measured by his kind approach toward his audience.

‘The Supernatural’ apostolic conference just ended in Kampala, Uganda. The two-day events which held between Tuesday, 23rd and Wednesday, 24th of October, 2018, were filled with spectacular testimonies from the enthusiastic crowd. The Uganda edition followed the Miami, Florida, conference that held on October 16th and 17th respectively.

Report has it that the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit for miracles at the two-day service was awesome. Lives were restored and there were proofs of cases that touch the heart, as well as the usual charity and empowerment.
“Great anointing was evident, and the intensity of the services was unusual,” a participant noted, adding that his study of the servant of God showed that indeed a good spiritual leader is not about ascending to some height of glory, but rather taking on the responsibilities of others.

Meanwhile, Apostle Suleman is not just about healing and giving, some of his signature qualities; he is also an expert in delivering intellectually-stimulating lectures that are morally-beneficial. They are lectures, like the recent ones presented below, that produce participants and passionate worshippers rather than mere listeners and spectators.

He teaches;

COVET GOD’S GLORY
The whole essence of man is glory. The whole makeup of man is glory. When you offend God, what will make Him turn his back on you is when glory leaves you. On the Cross, Jesus said “my God, my God, why have you forsaken me”. Why Jesus said that was because glory left him. How? In Romans, chapter 3 verse 23, the Bible says “for all have sinned and have fallen short of God’s glory.” So, when you sin, His glory lifts you. But once God turns His back on a man, it means glory has been lifted off the man. Therefore, crave God’s glory.

LIVE A LIFE OF REGULATIONS
Anyone that must enjoy God must live a life of regulations. There is a time you must be asleep. There is a time you must put up your lamp to pray, and there is a time you must study. At this time, nobody must come close. At this time, only God is supreme, only God is premium, only God is paramount. At that time, you have no fellowship with human, you must place God first.  You cannot make God first and end up last. Your priority determines your prosperity. No wonder David attained greatness at the age of 40. He defeated Goliath at young age and he got his rest at young age. He sought God early, so he arrived early.

PLAN YOUR LIFE
Many of us know that when politicians gather, it means they have agenda. And they meet the agenda.  People go to school, they have programmes. It is only believers who have life without programmes. You need to have programmes. On a Sunday when you return from the church, you sit down and plan your life from Monday to Sunday; where will I go from Monday to Sunday. Arrange your life, have your own programmes or else you’ll fall into somebody else’s programmes. Plan your life because a day gone can never be gotten back. “For Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.” 2 Chronicles 27:6.

WATCH WHAT YOU WEAR
God told me that people who dress rascally and waywardly have no respect for Him as God, have no value for their body and have no other people’s interest at heart. You have no respect for God when you wear micro-mini skirt. Can you wear micro-mini for a job interview? Can you wear tight skirt or tight trousers to an exam hall? As a lady, you wear something very tight and it becomes a problem, you can’t move. You are struggling to move and you stand; even as you stand you have to bend your waist to balance your movement. This is wickedness! You are wicked, you are a wicked person! This is Hell fire!

YOUR SPIRIT, NOT BODY, IS SAVED
People often tell Christians that once they are born again, they are above certain powers. I can tell you that, it is a big lie! Man is a tripartite being; you have the spirit, you have a soul and you live in the body. It is man’s spirit that gets saved not his body, not his mind. A man’s spirit is recreated; his body is not born again. Look at people who tattoo their body; when they get born again, will their tattoo disappear? No. You need to ask why the tattoo does not disappear. That shows it is your spirit that get saved. It is your duty to renew your mind by things you hear; that is not being born again. It is your duty to handle your body. Therefore, if only your spirit is recreated, you may end up with demented mind and afflicted body. It is your spirit that works changes. As you study the words of God, you begin to transform and improve. That is why Paul, even as a man who had been to Heaven, said “I keep my body under control…” 1 Corinthians 9:27.

Prophecy Fulfillment: Enugu Rangers Thanks Primate Ayodele for Victory Over Kano Pillars

The chairman of Enugu Rangers football club, Mr. Davidson Owumi, has extended appreciation to servant of God and founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, for offering spiritual assistance to the Club at all time, particularly over the Club's recent 4-2 victory over Kano Pillars football club.

"Although, we were apprehensive, we never doubted the Primate's prophecy for we know he always speaks his mission from God. I particularly have always associate myself with his prophecies because he stands tall among his peers. He told my team in January that the Club would win the Laurel, and true to his prophecy we win," Owumi notes, adding

that he believes in words from men of God because nothing is impossible for God to do.

HEALTHWISE: See New Symptoms of HIV

What is HIV ARS?

When people talk about ‘HIV symptoms’ they are generally referring to the symptoms that appear soon (2 to 6 weeks) after a person is infected with HIV (as opposed to late AIDS symptoms which take years to develop).
These symptoms are a result of the body mounting an immune response to the HIV infection, NOT due to the infection itself. That is why you find similar or identical symptoms with other infections.

It is also commonly known as Acute-Retroviral Syndrome (ARS, ARVS), acute primary HIV illness, acute HIV syndrome and Acute Sero-Conversion Syndrome.

HIV Symptoms are due to the immune system responding to the virus that is why many other infections can cause the same symptoms.

What are the early symptoms of HIV infection?

Because the whole body is reacting to fight off the virus, it is not surprising to find a variety symptoms affecting all bodily systems.
General – Fever, Sweats, Lethargy, Malaise, swollen lymph nodes, weight loss
Skin – Rash, ulcers , Sore throat
Digestive – Nausea, Diarrhea, Loss of Appetite
Neurological – Headache
Musculo-Skeletal – Muscle aches, Joint aches
Not everyone will develop all these symptoms. These symptoms can develop in varying combinations.  The most common symptoms are fever, sore throat, rash and swollen lymph nodes.
Only 40% to 70% of people infected with HIV will develop ARS symptoms

Who gets HIV ARS symptoms?

It is estimated that between 50% to 90% (some say 40% to 70%) of people who have been infected with HIV will develop HIV ARS. There is no way to predict who will develop ARS and who will not.

When do HIV symptoms appear and how long do they last?

HIV symptoms can appear anytime between 2 weeks and 6 weeks after infection. Most people who do develop the symptoms do so at 3 weeks.
Symptoms generally last for at least 2 weeks but have been known to last up to 10 weeks.

‘Flu-like’ is not ‘Cold-like’

HIV ARS symptoms are often described as ‘Flu-Like’. Many people think having a Flu is similar to having a Cold and this has led to a lot of confusion.

Many patients see me for minor cold symptoms such as running nose, sore throat or a mild cough and are worried to death about HIV.  These are Cold symptoms, they are not Flu symptoms.

For those of you who have had the Flu before, you will know what I am talking about. With a Flu, you will be very sick. The fever is high and persistent, the bodyache is very bad and you literally cannot get out of bed.
To be more precise, ARS is also described as mononucleosis-like symptoms.

The HIV ARS Rash

This is a great source of worry for many people I see. I have seen people coming in with literally one tiny red dot on their forearm convinced that it was a HIV rash. It is not.

The HIV rash usually comes on 2 to 3 days after the onset of the fever and lasts for at least 2 weeks. It is a Morbiliform (looks like measles) Exanthem rash consisting of macules and papules up to 1cm in diameter which are pink to red in colour. Each lesion remains discrete and do not become confluent. It is widespread and always (100%) involves the upper thorax and collar region also commonly (60% to 40%) affects the face, arms, scalp, thighs and palms in descending order of frequency.

Basically, the rash is BAD. Your friends and colleagues are going to take one look at you and ask ‘Hey why do you have a rash? Go see a doctor’.  If you have to hunt for individual spots or patches randomly on your skin, it is not a HIV rash.

The HIV ARS Rash looks like Measles

The HIV ARS Fever

Where do I start? I have patients measuring their temperatures hourly and freaking out when it hits 37.1⁰C because they read somewhere that ‘normal body temperature’ is 36.9⁰C and therefore they have a fever and therefore they have HIV. That is paranoia.

The HIV ARS Fever is high, usually above 38.5⁰C when taken from the ear.  The HIV ARS Fever is long, usually lasting for at least 2 weeks most of the time longer. It is usually associated with other symptoms such as lethargy, malaise, muscle aches and joint aches.

The HIV ARS Lymph Nodes

This is another great source of worry. I have seen patients who cannot stop rubbing their necks feeling for lymph nodes and melting into a panic state whenever they feel a lump that they have not felt before.

First of all, you can feel normal non-enlarged lymph nodes especially in thin people. So being able to palpate a lymph node does NOT mean it is enlarged.

Enlarged lymph nodes are about 1cm in diameter. In HIV ARS, there are usually many of such lymph nodes in the neck, groin and underarms. They are usually tender (i.e. painful to touch).

The HIV ARS Sore Throat and Mouth Ulcers

The sore throat associated with HIV ARS is bad. It is not a little discomfort in the throat or the sensation of having to clear your throat. It is painful. If you ever had Strep Throat before, it feels like that.

It is commonly described as an exudative tonsillitis. In other words, you will be able to see white or yellow pus-like substance on the tonsils. The tonsils themselves will be red and swollen. About 20% of the time, there are also ulcers round to oval in shape, 5mm to 10mm in diameter with a white base and red halo on the inside gums, tonsils or roof of the mouth.

Anxiety can frequently cause the muscles around the throat to tighten leading to some throat discomfort. This is NOT HIV.

What other diseases have the same symptoms as HIV ARS?

First of all, the Flu. And by that I mean an Influenza infection, not a cold. See above for details.

HIV ARS symptoms also mimic the symptoms of infectious mononucleosis very closely (also known as Mono or Glandular Fever). HIV ARS symptoms can also be mistaken for an acute Hepatitis A or B infection, Parvovirus infection, Cytomegalovirus infection and Toxoplasmosis. It can even be mistaken for Rubella (German Measles).

Nigerian Business Mogul, Aliko Dangote, Ranked 'World's 6th Most Charitable Person'

The philanthropist attitude of Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote group was recognized and highlighted by Richtopia, a digital periodical that covers business, economics, and financial news, based in the United Kingdom, on Wednesday as the richest man in Africa was named as the sixth most charitable man in the World.  Dangote recently endowed his foundation to the tune of $1.25 billion

Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and J.K Rowlings occupied the first three positions while Oprah Winfrey and Elon Musk were in the fourth and fifth position respectively.
Aside Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of United Bank for Africa was 11th on the lists and these two were the only Nigerians on the lists.
Aliko Dangote started his foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation in 1981, with a mission to enhance opportunities for social change through strategic investments that improve health and wellbeing, promote quality education, and broaden economic empowerment opportunities.
Aliko Dangote Foundation was however incorporated in 1994 as a charity in Lagos, Nigeria. 20 years later, the Foundation has become the largest private Foundation in sub Saharan Africa, with the largest endowment by a single African donor. The primary focus of Aliko Dangote Foundation is health and nutrition, supported by wrap-around interventions in education, empowerment, and humanitarian relief.

Among many others, it would be recalled that the foundation gave out a whopping N2.5 billion, the same amount the Federal Government also donated for the purpose of ameliorating the sufferings of the flood victims during President Jonathan era.
The Foundation, in line with its mandate to provide relief in times of disaster, spread its philanthropic works beyond the shores of Nigeria with a donation of $1 million to the government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.  The gesture was meant to support the government’s efforts in providing relief to the victims of the earthquakes that occurred in the country.
The Foundation also recently came to the aid of victims of the communal clash between Yoruba and Hausa traders and residents in Ile-Ife, Osun State with a donation of N50 million and also also donated N500 million as assistance to victims of the fire outbreak that occurred recently in five major markets in Kano.

The Foundation has also  been at the forefront of alleviating the conditions of people in IDPs. The Foundation in 2011, gave the sum of N364 million to IDPs across Kaduna, Bauchi and Gombe states after the post-election violence which rendered many homeless while the sums of N100 million and N60 million were respectively donated to victims of flood disaster in Lagos and Oyo States the same year.

Dangote Foundation donated N39.34 million to those IDPs displaced by the communal clash in Benue state in 2014.
While N42.5 million was used in feeding 5000 IDP households across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states last year, N100 million and N50 million were respectively contributed to the Appeal fund raised by Daily Trust to cater for the IDPs in the Northeast and to support the Adamawa Peace Initiative all for the IDPs. The sum of N1 billion was also recently pledged to Victim Support Fund for IDPs across the Northeast.

Through the Foundation, Dangote invested N2 billion to create jobs and end hunger for Borno State residents living in Internally Displaced Peoples camps(IDP).
Consequently, the Dangote Foundation came up with a micro grant scheme aimed at empowering the grassroots dwellers with funds to help them undertake petty trading so as to lift their economy.
Already, 256,500 women in states such Kano, Jigawa,, Kogi, Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe have benefited from the scheme that is expected to move round all the 774 local government areas across the nation.

Following the endowment to the tune of $1.25 billion recently by the founder/President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Dangote Foundation has unveiled a new name and logo, and it is now called Aliko Dangote Foundation.

Living An Impactful Life: Apostle Suleman's Words of Exhortation

“The moment you ask Jesus to be your Saviour and Lord, your sins are forgiven and your slate is wiped clean. God is no longer holding your past sins against you,” begun the servant of God and senior Pastor at Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman, as he mounted the rostrum at the just concluded The Supernatural 2018 which held at Lausanne, Switzerland between Tuesday, October 2nd and Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018.

A caring pastor, who always lives a godly life, faithfully loves and teaches God’s Word to people, Apostle Suleman, no doubt, recognizes how tremendous the challenge is to be a leader and model; thus when he has the opportunity, he does offer from his position, ideas, words of encouragement, and exhortation that will be a blessing to all.

Teaching God’s Word is a privilege and a blessing, but it is no easy task. However, some leaders make it look easy, and this is based purely on grace. According to the firebrand preacher, “we can have the same name, the same title but what separates us is our impact. We can have the same name, the same title but what makes one stand out is his impact. God is not looking for men with titles; He is looking for men He can tie Himself to. If you are not making impact as a preacher, the world will be too busy to hear you. What makes you stand out as a preacher is your hunger for impact.”

At the two-day impactful gathering, the ‘Oracle of God’ gave teachings on some important and foundational Christian beliefs from which participants drew a deeper understanding of God and His works on mankind. “When a man has out-grown his present stage, God uses circumstances to push him out to a higher level,” he delivered to the mammoth crowd at the conference. Further, Suleman warned on the influence of friendship, urging men to “mind the people you associate with, because sometimes there is group punishment for private sin.”

Apostle Suleman has authored passion-packed books that touch on living an impactful life as well as books that speak about revolutionizing the Church. From his writings, Christians especially will find solution to challenges, and encouragements.

The servant of God’s sermon also addresses the issue of authenticity; how genuine a man should be. Dissecting his address, it says it is possible for a man to practice an outward display of holiness, without in actuality, having inner reality of godliness.

“A man’s outward demonstrations of goodness may be no more than mere hypocrisy”, posits Suleman, adding; “It is what you do in secret that reflects in the public.”

Urging on hope, Apostle Suleman says that Christians hope is a realistic expectation of joyful longing for future good. “It is not until we have hope and move beyond the misery stage that we are able to find a magnificent lesson to be learned. No matter how bad your situation may be, do not panic. Have hope,” he concludes.

Mosseri Takes Over As Instagram Head

Following the resignation of Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, Facebook has appointed Instagram’s Vice President of Product to become head of the photo-sharing social network.
While the official story remains that Systrom and Krieger resigned to take some time off to explore their curiosity and creativity again, and possibly to pursue building a new start-up from scratch, inside sources insist the real reason Systrom and Krieger departed was disagreements with Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg over the direction of the app.
Their departure was months after the resignation of co-founder and CEO of WhatsApp, Jan Koum. Koum quit Facebook in April over disagreements about data privacy, advertising and encryption.
The story of Mosseri taking over was sold to the public as a means to pursue continuity to Instagram. Systrom and Krieger who broke the news of his appointment wrote in a blog post, “Since we announced our departure, many people have asked us what we hope for the future of Instagram. To us, the most important thing is keeping our community — all of you — front and centre in all that Instagram does. We believe that Adam will hold true to these values and that Instagram will continue to thrive.”
Adam is also perceived by many to be close to Zuckerberg, and getting the job as a result of that, but Systrom and Krieger are sure Instagram is in safe hands with Mosseri.
