"I don't see any other competition at the moment but we will keep a closer look at the market, we don't expect to dominate the market today or tomorrow but we will break through and dominate the market just the way we've grown our other businesses."

Also commenting on the unique features of Rayna Roasted Oat Flour, the Chief Operating Officer, Bukola Adedigba said:

"Looking at the whole package itself; you would want to buy it for any amount, I am not sure of other products, but I am very sure of Rayna Roasted Oat. For the fact that it's multipurpose, there are some products we tried here today for sample, we made use of Rayna to bake cakes, cookies, and biscuit, all made from this Rayna Roasted Oat Flour and so far we've had fantastic feedback.

Politicians Who Will Make Buhari's Cabinet on May 29 Revealed

President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken on dissolving his cabinet before May 29, 2019

Buhari’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, who appeared on Arise Television on Thursday, said it was likely he would dissolve his cabinet.

An APC source told The Status that some party chiefs who were defeated in their bid for reelection in the February 23 national assembly election would be considered for ministerial posts as soon as the president was sworn in for another term.

Recall that President Buhari spent over six months in 2015, to appoint his Ministers.

The source named an outgoing Southwest governor and South South senator who failed to win his reelection as some of those to be considered for slots.

While new hands would be brought on board, the source said the president may retain some of the present ministers in different areas of responsibility.

Adesina said Buhari has promised to appoint his Minister as soon as possible.

Aliko Dangote now 64th Richest in the World

…Worth $16.6bn, still number 1 in Africa

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has significantly moved up in the World billionaires’ list as he emerged 64th richest person in the world, with an estimated worth of $16.6 billion, as against his previous ranking of 103rd in the world.

Dangote, who remains the richest man in Africa for the 8th year running, was the only Nigerian on the list of the top 500 billionaires, as released last week by Bloomberg in its yearly billionaires list.

Jeff Bezos remains the richest in the world with $136 billion in his kitty while Bill Gates and Warren Buffett followed as 2nd and 3rd respectively with $98.4 billion and $83 billion on the world billionaires chart, which is dominated by North Americans.

Dangote’s estimated worth in the latest Bloomberg ranking far outstrips an earlier ranking by the Forbes Magazine, another elite publication which placed his fortune at $10.8bn in the 2019 Forbes Africa’s Billionaires’ list released in January, although he retained the rank as the richest African for the 8th consecutive year in the latter ranking.
There are only 5 Africans on the Bloomberg list of the world’s top 500 billionaires, with Dangote topping the group. The other four Africans included Nicky Oppenheimer of South Africa, who was ranked No. 216 with an estimated worth of $7.05 billion; Johann Rupert of South Africa (ranked No. 225 with an estimated worth of $6.92bn); and Natie Kash of South Africa (ranked No. 263 with an estimated worth of $6.10bn). The fifth and last African on the list of 500 HNW individuals was Naguib Sawiris of Egypt, ranked No. 331 with an estimated fortune of $5.12bn.
Bloomberg is a global information and technology company, that connect decision makers to a dynamic network of data, people and ideas – “accurately delivering business and financial information, news and insights to customers around the world” Bloomberg L.P. provides financial software tools such as an analytics and equity trading platform, data services, and news to financial companies and organisations through the Bloomberg Terminal.’
Africa's richest man, with his improved worth of $16.6 billion, controls Dangote Industries, a closely held conglomerate. The Lagos, Nigeria-based company owns sub-Saharan Africa's biggest cement producer, Dangote Cement, which had revenue of N805.6 billion naira ($2.4 billion) in 2017. It also has interests in sugar, salt, flour, fertiliser and packaged food.

It would be recalled that Aliko Dangote, was also recently named as the sixth most charitable man in the World by Richtopia, a digital periodical that covers business, economics, and financial news, based in the United Kingdom. This recognition came after he endowed his foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) to the tune of $1.25 billion
Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and J.K Rowlings occupied the first three positions on the World Charitable lists, while Oprah Winfrey and Elon Musk occupied the fourth and fifth positions respectively. Aside Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of United Bank for Africa was 11th on the list and these two were the only Nigerians on that list.
Aliko Dangote started his Foundation in 1981, with a mission to enhance opportunities for social change through strategic investments that improve health and wellbeing, promote quality education, and broaden economic empowerment opportunities.
Aliko Dangote Foundation was however incorporated in 1994 as a charity in Lagos, Nigeria. 20 years later, the Foundation has become the largest private Foundation in sub Saharan Africa, with the largest endowment by a single African donor. The primary focus of Aliko Dangote Foundation is health and nutrition, supported by wrap-around interventions in education, empowerment, and humanitarian relief.

Meeting Customers’ Everyday Needs Through An Ecosystem of Digital Services

Before the internet disrupted how and where customers make their purchases through eCommerce, most of their needs were usually met via various physical points of sale scattered across different locations. When eCommerce brought the ease and convenience of shopping, many abandoned the old and stressful way of shopping.

Although, at the early days of eCommerce in Nigeria, most platforms focused on chasing one rabbit at a time, that is, creating a niche platform. So, in 2011/2012, the challenge of providing an easy and convenient way to shop was solved, with the debut of eCommerce companies like Jumia.

But, another urgent customers’ need emerged while online shopping was still trying to establish its footing. Customers wanted more than just a shopping platform where they could buy gadgets, groceries, fashion items, electronics, and other home essentials. They wanted an online platform that could provide them access to other day to day services, such as booking a flight or a hotel, ordering food, drinks, flowers, recharging airtime, paying bills i.e. DSTV, and many more.

Typical of a forward-thinking company, Jumia responded swiftly to this new request by launching several other digital platforms that could help customers with these needs. These digital services include booking hotels/flights, ordering food, production services, drinks/beverage delivery and a whole lot of other services.
A few years later, precisely in 2017, Jumia introduced an all-in-one lifestyle app called Jumia One. With Jumia One, customers do not need to have several apps for all their daily needs. They only need to download Jumia One and they can conduct all their transactions on it.

There are a number of benefits customers enjoy when they meet all their needs using a single App, Jumia One as an example: (1) only one login ID will be required to access all the digital services, (2) less data required to make multiple purchases, (3) pay zero service fee on utility bills like DSTV, GoTV, Startimes, Kwesé TV, Smile, Swift, Spectranet, and electricity bills, (4) you get an instant refund whenever a failed or incomplete transaction occurs.

Apostle Suleman and Wife Preach, Bless Believers At Oregon Crusade

Following the example of his Good Shepherd, senior pastor at the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide, Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman, is once again demonstrating his uncommon assets in faraway Oregon State in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States of America.

Accompanied by his dutiful wife, Reverend (Mrs.) Lizzy Suleman and top OFM ministers, the ‘Oracle of God’, left the shores of Nigeria on a two-day soul-saving crusade on Tuesday, 26th of February, 2019. Typical of him, Suleman arrived the state filled with compassion for lost souls and aimed to see the people safely returned to God.

Apostle Suleman regularly exhibits his firm belief that God loves saving the lost. This, he says, was the conviction that fueled the launch of his ministry, seconded by his passion to help the poor. Suleman does not just tell the sinner, “go home and pray and read your Bible and attend church service,” but he says “by His grace are you saved through faith” (Ephesians 2:8). “It is this grace I carry everywhere I go and share with God’s people,” he asserts.

In the midst of restoring lives and blessing the poor in Oregon, both Apostle and Reverend Lizzy Suleman were committed in their tenderness to feed the people with the spiritual. There is something of genius about this Godly couple; they read the primary sources of challenges facing the people and apply the incredibly divine solutions in a way that ensures total deliverance. In essence, the clear and simple sermons given by them are a shining example for all modern preachers to emulate.

The Oregon crusade enters its second day on Wednesday, 27th of February, 2019. There are testimonies that the two-sessions of the first day were an absolute sensation, with the couple ministering to thousands of participants. While the crusade lasts, the participants appear to have a deep awareness that both Apostle Suleman and Reverend Lizzy Suleman had been called by the grace of God, and that it was that same grace which empowers and equips them for the privilege of their ministry.

Atiku Thanks Nigerians For Massive Support ...says 'victory is assured'

Presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has thanked Nigerians for turning out to  vote for him in their millions and confirmed that the initial indications from the PDPs Simultaneous Vote Count show a PDP victory is assured.

Atiku in a statement issued in Abuja by his Special Assistant On Public Communication,Mr.  Phrank Shaibu said “I would like to sincerely thank the millions of people who, despite having to bear the additional burden of a postponed election, came out yesterday to vote for me and the other PDP candidates standing in this election.”

The statement said with the PDP’s high tech, cloud-based SVC system - which is able to collate in real-time the results from the 176,000 voting points across the nation - the Presidential candidate could boldly assure his supporters that victory was at hand.

“With strong shares of vote in SS, SE as well as an increased share in SW and NC we are very pleased with the progress the PDP has made.  We look forward to sharing some exciting news in other parts of the country very soon, which will confound all the armchair pundits.

The people of Nigeria can take solace that very soon the living Nightmare of the last four years will come to an end so that together we will get Nigeria working again.”

The PDP Presidential candidate urged Nigerians on the need to maximise their eternal vigilance in the next 48 hours to prevent the majority votes recorded at the polling units being disrupted by force by the APC at the collation centres.

“I am familiar with how brazen and the complete lack of shame the APC can exhibit, but even I was shocked to witness just how low they went last night by accusing the PDP of ‘recruiting armed thugs’ to do just that.  Why would we want to do that when we are winning?”

“Furthermore I would like to say how proud I was of PDP supporters who conducted themselves so peacefully despite the significant provocations and threats of violence, removal and burning of ballot boxes and the likes.”

The statement also thanked the security forces and election officials who in the main conducted their duties with  exemplary professionalism but tasked General Buhari on his promise of a free and fair election.

“General Buhari you have promised our people and the world that you would conduct ‘free, fair and  credible elections’ so please call off the wilder elements within your party and deliver on your promise.”

The Kettle Calling Pot Black - by Osita Chidoka

Our attention has drawn to a low quality diatribe from the APC as contained in a statement to the effect that PDP plans to unleash armed thugs to disrupt the collation process is rank hypocrisy to disguise their own vile acts.

Tonight the APC has raised the spectre of the PDP ‘recruiting armed thugs to attack ward and LGS collation centres’ overnight. Let us put this statement into perspective:
Who introduced INEC and the Card Reader and PVC system to create a more transparent electoral process? The PDP.
Who in 2015 when holding all the levers of power ran what is widely agreed to be the most free and fair elections in Nigeria’s history which resulted in its own defeat? The PDP.

Who oversaw the peaceful handover of power from an incumbent President to an opponent? The PDP.

We would ask Nigerians and the world to compare and contrast our record with the APC and judge their book by its cover.
Who unconstitutionally suspended the Chief Justice the day before he was due to appoint the judges for the election tribunals? The APC.

Who put armed thugs on the streets in PDP strongholds to burn ballot boxes, suppress our voters and kill our people? The APC.
Who allowed one of their senior party leaders in charge of Activate Technology to provide the upgraded Card Readers to polling units in PDP areas to slow down the vote? The APC.

So why when voters across the country have expressed their preference in millions for Atiku to be the next President would the PDP want to disrupt the collation.

So we demand that the President who has promised us and the world free and fair elections to call off his attack dogs or see his legacy sink to levels of opprobrium not seen since before the return of democracy to Nigeria.

We recognise the common sense and intelligence of the Nigerian people to see through their subterfuge and nefarious plot and maintain their vigilance during this long night.

The night may be long but if we all play our part the light of the new dawn will see us to a better land.

Be part of history. Be vigilant.

"I've Packed My Bags and Preparing My Handover Notes" ...Rotimi Amaechi allegedly declares in fresh leaked audio

In what is undoubtedly the most damning statement on the eve of any election anywhere in the world, the head of General Buhari’s presidential election campaign has categorically given the verdict on tomorrow’s poll: the APC is going to lose decisively.

Amechi has form for being caught on tape in the now infamous Amechi tapes that were leaked and played in a string of Twitter posts which caught the imagination of the Nigerian electorate over the last few weeks.

However nothing is as explosive as this revelation from him where he categorically states “We are going to lose”, that has come out just hours before polls open at 8am tomorrow.

Not only does he admit the APC is headed for defeat but that he has known it for a while as he has used the time to prepare for his departure: ‘I have packed my bags and prepared my handover notes”.
The remarks were made in public a few days ago to a group of people who were Itakpe rail project inspection.

What makes this revelation all the more extraordinary is that it was captured not just on audio but on video in the presence of other people so there is no room for denial or accusations of fakery or forgery.
What Amaechi says is in line with what political circles have been alive to for the last four weeks – that the APC was heading for a loss - ever since the PDP Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, visited America on 16th January and the Government made its major blunder with the unconstitutional suspension of the Chief Justice.

That was the moment when the political see-saw decisively tipped in favour of Atiku and ever since the political assets previously on Buhari’s side have increasingly slid into Atiku’s lap.

With the torrent of endorsements from political parties, religious and ethnic groups to the peeling away of Buhari’s own political supporters in his own party.  APC Governors without quitting the party are covertly working to support Atiku in the Presidential race in exchange for being able to migrate to the new President’s party when he takes office in May.

One prominent political analyst likened it to “the unpeeling of an onion when after you have removed a number of the layers before you know it you end up with nothing”.

Another stated “ever since the PDP Rally in Kano on 10th February which showed the ‘Buhari’s northern reboubt has fallen’ there is an increasing ‘fin de le siecle’ (end of the cycle) feeling about this administration with a growing stench hanging around the coattails of the APC – the smell of decay, despondency and despair.”

Primate Ayodele's 'Week of Appreciation': Speaks on 2019 Elections, Honours Celebrities, Empowers The Poor

Servant of God at INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, will defeat the incumbent president, Muhammad Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential election of Saturday, February 23, 2019 if the process is free and fair.

Ayodele made this declaration last Thursday during his annual birthday activities tagged  'Moments of Appreciation'. February 14 is the cleric's day and the celebration spans a week when he uses the opportunity to care for the poor and empower women, men, youth, widows, widowers, including paying visits to hospitals and government institutions where he assists spiritually and donates financially and materially.

"If this election is made free and fair, I give it to Atiku," he says, adding that he saw APC looking for ways to rig it for itself.

"Now, the PDP people are listening to God's warning. They are doing what God instructed them to do and they are matching the APC bumper to bumper.
If the party keeps this momentum, I see victory," declares the prophet who says that physically and spiritually, Nigerians are tired of the APC governments at all levels.

Primate Ayodele, however, warned that if President Buhari fails to heed God's warning and proceed to impose himself on Nigeria, he does not see him finishing the second term in good health.

"I don’t see him completing his term if he gives himself victory in this election. Buhari is too weak to continue. I don’t see him having good health; I don’t see anything coming out of it. Let the APC government leave power honourably."

The 2019 edition of the event was characterized by series of charity activities. The Shepherd in charge of the Celestial Church of Christ (Genesis Parish), Prophet Israel Oladele, was guest minister.

Prophet Oladele, apart from being honoured by Primate Ayodele with a gigantic picture frame of him (Oladele), he also had the honour to present award plaques to honorees which include star music and movie artistes like Ojoge; Dejo Tunfulu; Fuji music veteran, Yoboro Yobonson; Juju music star, Mega '99 and various other personalities and INRI church members who were empowered with cash gifts, tricycles, sewing machines and other items.

Primate Ayodele also had a word for the APC government on the TraderMoni initiative. "They are not doing anything new. I have been doing this type of empowerment in my own capacity for many years. Without being immodest, I can say I do it better than the government. It is good but this government is doing last what they ought to put first."

According to Ayodele, "if the APC government had done this when they came to power, Nigerians would not have cause to be angry at them when they need another term."

Celebrity broadcaster/MC, Soji Omotayo, compere the event.

Election Postponement Confirms Prophet TB Joshua's Prophecy!

Nigeria’s 2019.
popular Prophet, TB Joshua has once again set the record of his accuracy straight with the postponement of the general elections that was supposed to take place today Saturday , 16th Of February,

Earlier this week, the internationally respected Prophet revealed that the 2019 general election will be postponed but God will have his way.

In his words;

” The Nigerian election may likely be postponed because of many challenges. In whatever way, God is in Control “
Just as he has said, news broke out on that the much anticipated election might be postponed due to the inability of the INEC to circulate election materials to some states of the federation.

Finally, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday postponed the presidential and national assembly elections.

The announcement by INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja came hours before Nigerians were slated to head to the polling units.
The announcement was made at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
It came hours after PREMIUM TIMES reported that logistics challenges in some parts of the country may force the commission to move the elections.
The new dates for the elections are February 23 for presidential and national assembly elections and March 9 for governorship and state assemblies elections.

Mr Yakubu said further details of the postponement would be disclosed at a conference scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday

How Struggling Retailers Can Improve Business Selling Online

With the many advantages of the World Wide Web and its impact on businesses, you would think the bandwagon impact would be massive.
Apparently, this is not the case as there are still a good number of businesses that are yet to bring their business online. Surprisingly, some of these businesses are struggling and are ready to jump at any ready-made solution to recover. Unknown to them, the solution is right under their noses which is to bring the business online.
There many online businesses that traditional stores can emulate. A good example is Jumia. Jumia is over 5 years in the online business and for these years, Nigeria's no 1 shopping destination has encouraged millions of Nigerians to shop online. This has, fortunately, being aided by the fact that many customers now own smartphones and can afford the internet, they will no doubt, result to the internet to perform their transactions. Hence, the convenience of an online platform like Jumia is driving a lot of people to purchase, book and order things on the internet.

Reasons you need an online presence
24/7 hour availability
There are very few traditional or offline businesses in Nigeria that can run for 24 hours every day. It is impossible. A key benefit to having a website is that your clients and prospects can read about your products and place orders at any time. On regular business days or holidays. Imagine what being open 3-4 times longer could do for your business.
Better customer support
The diversity of the internet is immeasurable. It allows you to answer questions and solve customer problems in real time. You can also create a video, a product spec sheet or a FAQ (frequently asked question) section once, and you can direct clients to that information. Not only does it save you time, but you’ll be providing better service.
Very low start-up costs
Starting out online means very low startup costs. You have no buildings to construct, no vehicles to buy and few (if any) staff to hire. Simply build your site and start selling. If you are already selling offline, then the transition can be very smooth. You continue selling the same products that you know and have a good supply of. Putting your company online simply gives you a new source of customers.
Your customers are online
This is perhaps the most important reason for building an online presence. This is because your customers are online using search engines to search for your services.
How struggling businesses/retailers can improve business by coming online
Know your market
One of the biggest keys to success with an online business is to know the market. Where do your potential customers spend their time online and how can you reach them? The better you know your market, the more success you will have reaching them with the right message and offering them the right products and services. You don't necessarily have to be an expert in your market and, you can learn as you go along.
Push your business on social media
Social media is absolutely free except you want to run a promotion campaign. You can also do a free push of your business on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. This will definitely give you brand recognition as you continually interact with your customers online.
Own a website
You need a website to complement your social media efforts. This is because search engines now have a huge impact on business because many people usually visit Google or Bing to search for what they want. If your website is fully optimised, then you will get more patronage. This, plus your social media, will help your business recover.
Publish an email newsletter
Capturing the email addresses of your website visitors is critical to the growth of every online business. However, a large and growing list is only valuable when useful and relevant information is sent on a regular basis to these individuals. The goal of an email list is to turn prospects into clients and clients into repeat customers and they will eventually become ambassadors for your company/product.
Keep them interested with content marketing
Content marketing refers to the strategy of marketing to potential customers with different types of content. The content used in this method can vary from blogs to videos; but they all share the same end goal: to convince visitors to your website that they should buy from or partner with you.

Elections Postponement: How Prophet Iginla Foretold It Last October

It is no more news that the Nigerian 2019 general election which was slated for today, Saturday, 16th Of February, 2019 has been postponed. Likewise, it is impossible for things like this to occur without God informing his true Prophets.

One of the Generals in God’s prophetic army, Prophet Joshua Iginla, the General Overseer of Champions Royal Assembly, Abuja is no doubt among the few God’s Generals and surprisingly, he has revealed this as far back as October 2018 and repeated same in January 2019 while in a live service in his Abuja church.
During the first prophecy, he made it known that there is a twist about 2019 election.

‘’The outcome of 2019 election is pregnant with a lot of pregnancy, there is a twist pertaining to the 2019 election, May the date not be postponed’.

Similarly, On January 13, he revealed that he is not a prophet of doom but the signs he sees are not pleasant
‘’ For Nigeria, we are going to still see what is coming, I’m not a propget of doom but the darkness I see, I pray it clears, I prayed last year and God said we will come out of it but didn’t tell me that we will not see it. The signs are not pleasant , I pray the election will not be postponed and I pray the government of the day will not have couple of protest’.

Just as he has predicted, in few hours to start the 2019 election, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Yakubu announced that the election has been postponed and the new dates has been fixed.

The new dates for the elections are February 23 for presidential and national assembly elections and March 9 for governorship and state assemblies elections.

How Apostle Suleman Foretold General Elections Postponement! *says "God is not finished with Nigeria yet"

Popular Nigerian pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has said that the sudden postponement by the INEC of the general general elections was divinely mandated.

Suleman was reacting to the eleventh hour shifting of the presidential and national assembly elections which ought to have taken place on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

The INEC, after an emergency meeting with stakeholders, also shifted the governorship and house of assembly elections earlier billed for March 2 to March 9, 2019.

In a two-minutes video going viral on the social media, Suleman, who said the postponement of the elections did confirm the message he received on January 10, 2019 and relayed to his congregation and the public via the video that the conduct of the 2019 general elections was shaky.
In the said video clip, the Edo State born General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), is seeing telling his audience that;

"You will be shocked. They will fight themselves. They will be against themselves. They will shame themselves. Can I surprise you; if we do not pray well, I don't see election. i saw a date that was shifted if we don't pray. They will give you reasons; there was security threat, there was violence, and because of these we are moving the elections forward. It is just a scam."

Speaking, Apostle Suleman warned that election should not be turned to war as it must be seen to be free, fair and acceptable to every Nigerian, irrespective of tribe and political leanings.

"Unless the authorities do the needful in a way that conforms to God's rules, God is not finished with Nigeria yet,' states Apostle Suleman.

Kunle Poly Thanks Tinubu, Oba Akiolu and Fans, As NURTW Lifts Suspension on Him

President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Najeem Yasin, has announced the lifting of suspension of factional leader of the union in Lagos State, Alhaji Azeez Lawal a.k.a Kunle Poly.

It would be recalled that Kunle Poly was accused by the leadership of the union of being responsible for the attack at the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) rally on Tuesday January 8, where some journalists and many other people including another NURTW official, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) were injured.

Subsequently, the president of the NURTW, Yasin, announced the suspension of Kunle Poly after a five-hour meeting with the Lagos State Executive and elders of the union and also resolved to set up a committee that would investigate the immediate and remote causes of the disruption and attack at the All Progressives’ Congress rally in Lagos.

But, after thorough investigation and consultation, the union on February 14 lifted the suspension of Kunle Poly.

In a statement which was made available to The Status, Kunle Poly expressed joy and thanked the NURTW national chairman, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin and others who stood by him during the trail.

“I use this medium to thank everybody that showed me love pertaining to what happened a while ago. I love you all, may God be with you all.

Veteran Comedian, Baba Suwe, Is Dying! *abandoned by colleagues

Inside sources told The Status that since his celebrated arrest and humiliation for alleged drug smuggling by the NDLEA, Babatunde Omidina a.k.a. Baba Suwe, has never remained his lively self.
He's down with an unknown sickness, claimed sources.
The star humorist, The Status gathered,

went down physically, financially and professionally, no thanks to his colleagues and close allies in the theatre business who have shown lack of interest in his case since 2016 when he literally disappeared from the social radar.
A younger artiste, Yomi Fabiyi, it was who brought Baba Suwe’s case to the public knowledge three years ago. Whilst he appealed to the public and colleagues to help him back on his health, Fabiyi added that the veteran comic star was down financially too and needed funds to return to life, literally.
Once the toast of most Nigerian families for his creative humour on TVs and later home videos, Baba Suwe, weighed down by the psychological trauma borne out of the public opprobrium experienced in the wake of his time with NDLEA, soon fell ill after his arrest and has yet to recover.
Baba Suwe’s actress wife and confidant, Omoladun, died in 2009. Those in the know say that that was the real genesis of Baba Suwe’s fast descent into social and professional worthlessness.
A Lagos based seasoned radio broadcaster (who pleaded anonymity) during the investigation, informed The Status that no one among Baba Suwe’s friends and professional colleagues was willing to help solve his challenge.
Prodded to expatiate, the radio man who claimed he had personally called out such big names like Oga Bello, Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, Mr. Latin and others on the comedian’s present sorry state, stated that he felt they were running away from Baba Suwe not because he was not good to them but because they are selfish in nature.
"Baba Suwe is a good man. None of his people can say he is bad. And they are not helping him not because he behaved badly to them. They are not helping him because they care only about their family. That’s the nature of our actors, there is no exception. Imagine the caliber of people I told you
I had spoken to about Baba Suwe’s case, yet none looks his way yet.
But if, God forbid, he dies from the problem, they would be all over the place eulogising his qualities which they helped killed by their lack of empathy," the broadcaster notes.
Attempts by The Status to speak with any of the names mentioned were futile as their phones were either unavailable or went unanswered. The current location of Baba Suwe was also not known as he was said to have been moved from his once bustling Ebute Metta, Lagos office.
