Kunle Poly Thanks Tinubu, Oba Akiolu and Fans, As NURTW Lifts Suspension on Him

President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Najeem Yasin, has announced the lifting of suspension of factional leader of the union in Lagos State, Alhaji Azeez Lawal a.k.a Kunle Poly.

It would be recalled that Kunle Poly was accused by the leadership of the union of being responsible for the attack at the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) rally on Tuesday January 8, where some journalists and many other people including another NURTW official, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) were injured.

Subsequently, the president of the NURTW, Yasin, announced the suspension of Kunle Poly after a five-hour meeting with the Lagos State Executive and elders of the union and also resolved to set up a committee that would investigate the immediate and remote causes of the disruption and attack at the All Progressives’ Congress rally in Lagos.

But, after thorough investigation and consultation, the union on February 14 lifted the suspension of Kunle Poly.

In a statement which was made available to The Status, Kunle Poly expressed joy and thanked the NURTW national chairman, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin and others who stood by him during the trail.
