YouTube Hits Maureen Badejo Again, Yanks Her New Channel Opened to Defame Apostle Suleman

Maureen Badejo

The Scriptures says of the unrelenting foes; “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated at your feet. They shall come out against you one way and flee seven ways."

Barely two weeks after her two prominent YouTube channels were removed for violating electronic broadcast rules, London based VLogger, Maureen Badejo, has suffered another blow. Her newly-acquired channel called 'Maureen Badejo TV, has again been brought down by YouTube.

A famous televangelist and general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, had few months ago, complained to the Google-owned video sharing platform of Badejo’s consistent attacks on his (Suleman’s) personality and his evangelism works using YouTube platform. The man of God later approached the law court to compel YouTube including Badejo and others for redress.

YouTube, in a written apology tagged ‘Outcome of Investigation’ to Suleman and seen by this medium, said; “Our internal team has completed their review and have taken appropriate actions in accordance with our policies, including the removal of videos that were found to violate our community guidelines. This has resulted in the termination of the channels, GIOTV Foundation and Maureenbadejosblog TV for violating our harassment and cyber-bullying policy.

Few days after the channels were yanked, Maureen Badejo opened new one purposely to continue her unprovoked attacks on Apostle Suleman. However, sources within the OFM church said, without a fresh formal complaint either by the cleric of any of his ministers or aides, the YouTube platform, which seemed to have been following Maureen since the last event, discovered her latest misadventure and promptly removed it.

An OFM top source stated that Apostle Suleman refused to make a fuss throughout Maureen's eight-month attacks because "he is naturally a tolerant and patient man. But once he starts a battle he doesn’t let go

Responding on behalf of Suleman, a top OFM minister said the servant of God has always relied on the Scriptures, which says; "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

Cyndi’s Empire was established a decade ago to close the gaps of skincare-related issues in Nigeria and West Africa at large and has remained innovative and fully operated by the popular and qualified Cosmetologist, Foluso Oguntola.

As the competition in the beauty industry is getting intense by the day as more investors are looking to catch in, Cyndi’s Empire has remained afloat and flown by evolving new ways in the production of her products and service delivery nationwide beyond.

Oguntola disclosed that the procedures are safe, tested, and proven to defy environmental factors that cause and rapidly increase aging and skin damage among the youths and the aged ones.

“At Cyndi’s Empire, the company unarguably has the best skincare products for the treatment of all skin types and problems. We don’t experiment on our customers’ bodies. In this part of the world, nothing grows without some challenges on the way and the Chief Executive Officer of Cyndi’s Empire reeled out the challenges she has had to surmount to remain relevant and at the zenith of the ladder in the business.

“The major challenge we’re having is the epileptic power supply and also competent staff to manage this business, in particular, my staff is properly trained for at least 3 months before they can attend to clients.”

However, Foluso Oguntola who was once a famous face on the television before embarking on this new journey revealed that her emergence in the beauty industry is borne out of her love for looking good and her passion for the skin care business.

“I was in the Nigeria Entertainment industry for 10 years. I left immediately after I got married, to focus on my family. Secondly, I’ve always had a passion for skin care. I noticed I couldn’t joggle both at the same time and I decided to walk out of the industry and focus on what I’m presently doing. Skin Care gives me joy and it’s making me more money than entertainment could ever,” she asserted.

Oguntola was trained and certified as a medical aesthetician and cosmetologist in the United Arab Emirates, Laserderm Aesthetics Academy, Lagos, Nigeria. She has also undergone a series of researches and practicals to make her relevant in the industry over the years.

Buhari: How We Got Nnamdi Kanu, Why He Won't Get Bail

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Great Britain on the margins of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda, during which he once again reiterated his resolve to respect the maximum term limit in the Nigerian Constitution.

The PM, obviously not quite familiar with the maximum two terms limit, had asked if President Buhari would run for office again. To which the latter responded:

“Another term for me? No! The first person who tried it didn’t end very well.” (General laughter).

On the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, not being allowed to see his lawyers privately, the President dispelled such insinuation, saying the detained separatist was being given every opportunity under the law “to justify all the uncomplimentary things he had been saying against Nigeria in Britain.”

Said President Buhari: “He felt very safe in Britain, and said awful things against Nigeria. We eventually got him when he stepped out of the United Kingdom, and we sent him to court. Let him defend all that he has said there. His lawyers have access to him. Remember he jumped bail before, how are we sure he won’t do it again, if he’s admitted to bail?”

On the keenness expressed by the PM to help Nigeria in the area of security, the President said helping to stabilize Libya could be an initial good step, as the fall of Muammar Gadaffi after 42 years in power unleashed his armed guards on countries in the Sahel, “and they are causing havoc everywhere, as the only thing they know how to do is to shoot guns.”

On Boko Haram insurgency, President Buhari said there was serious effort to educate the people on the fact that only an unserious person could kill innocent people, “and say Allah Akbar (God is Great). God is justice. You can’t take innocent souls, and ascribe it to God. And the education process is working, the people now understand Boko Haram as anti-God, and not about religion.”

PM Johnson said he was delighted about the good news on trade between the two countries, adding that the UK was further reducing tariffs on some goods going to Nigeria.

He described the relationship between the countries as “very strong attachment,” adding: “I just want to be sure that we are doing enough. It’s a massive partnership for us, and we need to capitalize on it.”

The Prime Minister offered condolences on some recent attacks in Nigeria, particularly on churches.

Apostle Suleman at Holy Ghost Conference: Christianity is Warfare, Not Funfair

Christ-centered preaching is biblical, and practical. Preaching, according to Apostle Johnson Suleman, the general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide, should draw people to Christ by showing the world that Christ is better than the things man often places his hope in. At the OFM’s ‘Holy Ghost Conference, which was held a few days ago, the man fondly called ‘The Restoration Apostle’ suggested in his teaching that lives indeed are changed by true transformation which comes when Jesus Christ is preached intensely into people’s hearts.

A common philosophy shared by many African cultures simply states that ‘life is warfare.’ Apostle Suleman says because Christ is life, then Christianity is warfare, not funfair. This old maxim, Suleman asserts, is well attested to by the Scriptures, that man’s existence is warfare. But how does man confront warfare? He said that, though the warfare needs some sort of weapons to be executed, the weapon needed by true Christians to combat the forces militating against their well being, is spiritual weapon.

“Christians are not into physical combat. We are involved in spiritual battles. So, our weapons are spiritual. They are divine,” he declared, adding that “it is only normal that one executes a spiritual warfare with spiritual weapons, as you are expected to confront the power of darkness with physical weapons.”

His words;

“When you become a child of God, you have been translated from one kingdom to another kingdom. And the kingdom where you're translated from is not going to fold their hands, it will come after you‍. Christianity is not funfair, it is warfare. No good Christian is weak. The devil will come for you whether you're ready or not. Yet, having weapons is good but knowing how to deploy them effectively is better‍( Psalm 78:9).”

While cautioning Christians to be in position to really confront the power of darkness by putting on the whole armour, Apostle Suleman said “our God is a God of war. It is warfare that unveils welfare. Your welfare is in your warfare‍️. You cannot walk into the kingdom of hell without holding dangerous weapons. That is the armour. What makes you a terror to hell is when you have the understanding of how the weapons of God operate. Satan knows when you know. Satan thrives when man is ignorant and spiritually blind,” he declared, adding that, “Christians’ weapons of warfare are not only spiritual, but are also very potent. They are very strong. They are very efficient. The potency of these weapons is seen in the fact that they can pull down strongholds; cast down arguments and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God; it brings every evil thought into captivity. That is why Jesus Christ said to the disciples, “I am sending you out as sheep among the wolves.”

UK Police Arrest, Detain Ike Ekweremadu, Wife for Human Trafficking, Attempted Organ Harvesting!

Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, have been arrested and charged for bringing a child to the UK for organ harvesting.

It is not certain if those arrested are Nigeria’s former deputy senate president and his wife, but the description given by the UK police fits into their profile.

Confirming the arrests in a statement, the metropolitan police said the pair were charged to court on Thursday following an investigation by the force’s specialist crime team.

The police added that the investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.

“Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55 (10.9.66) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting,” the statement reads.

“Ike Ekweremadu, 60 (12.05.62) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.

“They have both been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later today.”

“A child has been safeguarded and we are working closely with partners on continued support.

“As criminal proceedings are now under way we will not be providing further details.”

INEC Refuses to Extend Voters Registration Deadline!

Aisha Dukku, chairperson of the house of representatives committee on electoral matters, says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) didn’t promise to extend voter registration by 60 days.

According to Dukku, the electoral umpire has several activities on its timetable ahead of the 2023 general election which makes it not viable to extend the deadline by 60 days.

The house of representatives had asked INEC to extend the deadline by 60 days, following the June 30 closing date set by the electoral body.

Briefing journalists after plenary, Dukku said INEC didn’t agree to the request of the lower legislative chamber.

Dukku said Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, only promised to “look at” the request of the lower legislative chamber.

“Part of what INEC told the house through the committee on electoral matters is that they are going to look at our request. However, whatever happens, they cannot be able to open the registration for the next 60 days because of the activities lined up before the general election,” she said.

“The registration of voters is one aspect. There are other schedules that have to be done which the chairman explained. Such include the printing of voter cards, distribution of the cards and the pasting of list of all persons registered in all 774 local governments nationwide.

“And so, it will not be possible. This is the statement— for INEC to extend for the days we requested. However, they will go back and look at their timeline and look at how possible they will be able to increase the days for registration.

2023: Why Citizens' Civic Responsibility In Repositioning Nigeria Is Crucial, by Emmanuel Ajibulu

One of the most critical ways that citizens can influence governmental decision-making is through voting. It is a formal expression of preference for a candidate for office or for a proposed resolution of an issue.

Voting generally takes place in the context of a large-scale national or regional election. In Nigeria for example, presidential election takes place simultaneously in the country same with the governorship election which usually hold in only 29 states at the same time, whilst election in the  remaining seven other states of Edo, Kogi, Ondo, Ekiti, Anambra, Osun and Bayelsa are staggered and conducted off-season by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Presently and according to INEC, the 2023 presidential and National Assembly poll is set for 25 February and governorship and other subnational elections scheduled for 11 March; the countdown is well underway for what will be the seventh consecutive elections since the return to democracy in 1999 after military handover. This apparently represents 23 years of unbroken democracy; the longest period in Nigeria's history.

The process is also considered to be significant as the 2023 election will be conducted under a new electoral legal framework. The Electoral Act 2022 allows INEC to review results made under duress or financial inducements, extends the time for campaigns from 90 to 150 days, and provides for the use of technology to determine the mode of voting and transmission of results. Pundits believe these measures can help manage situations where inaccurate results are returned, expand the opportunity for politicians to visit the nooks and crannies of the country if they so desire, and can cure the chaotic, vulnerable manipulation and unnecessarily opaque process of the aggregating result.

Meanwhile, there is need for citizens' awareness during the performance of this civic responsibility. It’s so important for the people to adequately understand what they are voting about and the need to accordingly make informed decisions. The 2023 election goes beyond who will be president. Citizens' votes should be their eloquent voices to react to issues affecting housing, education, employment and healthcare, etc.

It is also true that citizens through the strength of their votes have the power to decide on the quality of life they want for themselves and future generations. Voting is an extention of the opportunity to stand up for improvements on issues like public transportation, raising minimum wage, or funding local schools, etc and it is essential at a time like this to also take the time to help decide what’s best in deepening our democracy.

More pointedly, elections are decided by the people who go out and vote on the day of election, however Nigerians owe themselves the responsibility to take some time and learn about the candidates; trace their antecedents and carefully  evaluate their capabilities on the strength of their previous accomplishments in their various field of endeavors, know about their criminal records (if any) the premium they place on transparency, prudency, justice, fairness, decency, charitable course for humanity, etc.

In the forthcoming 2023 poll, there are two things electorate should demand from INEC. One of them is their PVCs. The second one should be delivery of an electoral process that would be transparent, credible, free, fair and acceptable.

This election is expected to be a defining moment for Nigerians, having experienced two recessions in the last seven years, the economy has been in a very bad shape, with the government helpless at any time it happens.

Without being antagonistic to the present leadership, it is a widely known fact that in the last seven years, foreign exchange has been more volatile, with Naira losing stability of N160 to the American dollar speedily to about N650 today at the parallel market. In the last seven years, which captures the present administration, inflation has risen unimaginably, food security is fable, insecurity has taken deadlier dimensions, corruption, which the government swore to fight, is fighting back and winning more converts, poverty is preeminent as the country infamously ranks as the world capital of poverty today.

Similarly, the country is witnessing a very high inflation rate, the worst in seven years. Though the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) claimed that Nigeria’s annual inflation rate fell for the seventh straight month to 15.99 percent in October of 2021, from 16.63 percent in September, food prices are still rising daily at a very high percentage in the last seven years.

There is no need to ask for what the plights of the masses are now. They are getting poorer daily, one square meal difficult, quality education and healthcare far out of their reach. Staple food like garri now out of the reach of the poor, and building materials untouchable, many are hungry and homeless, and millions have fallen into that category in the last seven years. Yet, farmers-herders clashes took a deadlier turn in the last seven years.

Currently, Nigeria is the third country most impacted by terrorism, according to Global Terrorism Index 2020 after Afghanistan and Libya.

Sadly again, Nigeria increased to 149 out of 180 countries in 2020 from 146 in Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International, while observers worry that the country will top the rank before the present administration, which claims to fight corruption, finishes its tenure in 2023.

More worrisom is the rise in religious intolerance and fanaticism as seen in Boko Haram Islamic sect, banditry, tribalism, nepotism, among other forms of injustice that have divided Nigeria.

However, judging from the constraints itemized above, citizens must still not be deterred in excercising their franchise in 2023 which is their constitutional right, electorate must also be optimistic that their votes will count, and they must never give up on the leadership and the country’s brand of democracy.

Citizens' impact, participation and ownership of the 2023 electoral process will definitely give room for paradigm shift in the larger interest of Nigeria and of course it is expected to be a referendum against bad leadership to usher in growth, socio-political and economic renaissance and national coehesion among other purpose driven interventions. May God bless and prosper Nigeria.
