LIVING: Meal Preparation Points For Busy People

When it comes to healthy eating, there’s one strategy that works time and again which is planning ahead. This is because the time you probably may throw your healthy eating goals out the window is when you are busy. This said you do not have to spend hours preparing your meals. These points shared by Jumia Food, Nigeria's no 1 food ordering platform will help you quicken your food preparation process.

Buy, wash and chop
While this tip may appear time-consuming, washing and chopping necessary groceries after purchasing it, in the long run, saves time because you only have to go through this process once. Doing this will make meals like soups, and salads take a fraction of your time to make.

Clean as you go
Clean dishes and wipe down counters so you won’t have to spend time doing it after dinner. You will also have an easier time getting things cleaned if the mess is still fresh.

Master your microwave
Almost everyone has a microwave, but most of us only use it to warm leftovers. A microwave can be your best friend if you’re trying to eat healthily and spend less time in the kitchen. You can make tons of healthy foods in the microwave, including oatmeal, eggs, fish, and sweet potatoes.

Save new recipes for weekends
When you stick with your tried-and-true recipes during the week, you won’t be rushing to get ingredients together or hovering over the recipe card to make sure you did everything just right. Experiment with new recipes when you’re less pressed for time, like during the weekends.

Freeze leftover ingredients
If you have any leftover food, package all of them and free them. Once frozen, store them in freezer bags for quick and easy use in future recipes.

Five Mistakes That Can Wreck a Healthy Diet

Working hard usually pays, but it may not necessarily be the case in the quest to attain the ideal body weight. There are lots of contributing factors like age, exercise routine and proper diet that can affect a weight loss plan. However, it could simply be because of some unknown nutrition traps that had a hand in wrecking your plan to attain a healthy diet. Jumia Food, Nigeria's no 1 food ordering platform, discuss some of these traps of mistakes.

Buying on impulse

Going to the supermarket without having a shopping list handy is treading on dangerous grounds. Chances are that there will be lots of unneeded items in the shopping cart based on the store’s special promotions, usually from the snack and junk food.

Eating at night
Eating at night can lead to trouble. For example, maintaining a habit of eating while you watch TV can lead to overeating. Saving up your daytime calories for a nighttime meal is also unhealthy. You need calories during the day when you're expending energy. And if you're not eating enough in the day, you may be so hungry at night that you overeat.

Depriving yourself of your favourite foods
The more you tell yourself not to eat something, the more you desire it. Obsession can set in, and all of the sudden you’ve downed an entire cup of ice cream. Healthy eating isn’t about deprivation or drastically changing every aspect of your lifestyle. It’s about learning how to enjoy what you love in a healthy way.

Not keeping track of your food intake
Research shows that people who track their food intake if they're trying to lose weight or monitor sodium in their diet, are more successful. It makes you aware on a regular basis of what you're putting in your mouth and how much you're eating. Also, tracking your food provides you with an overall picture so you can figure out what's working and what isn't.

Keeping unhealthy foods within reach
It's more challenging to avoid unhealthy foods if you stock them in your refrigerator, even if they are intended only for a special occasion. The best thing to do is surround yourself with healthy food. That's what you'll eat when you find yourself looking for a snack. But if you buy a half gallon of ice cream, eventually it will go into your stomach.

Robbed Student Thanks Apostle Suleman For Settling His School Fees

“If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to helping both the spiritually and financially poor”. This was a statement made by servant of God and senior pastor at Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, during a newspaper interview in 2015. And, so far, he has lived up to this promise with not just activities in his ministry but his private charity institute, Touch of Love.
A young male student was one of the latest recipients of Apostle Suleman’s kindness. The case of the Auchi Polytechnic ND 1 Public Administration student was exceptional, we gathered, given that he was not near the venue of the crusade where the Holy Spirit located him.
Apostle Suleman with his wife, Reverend (Mrs.) Johnson Suleman and other top OFM ministers, for the record, returned from a two-day trip to the United Arab Emirate where he hosted the Dubai edition of the soul-winning, life-changing ‘The Supernatural’ conference and headed for the Auchi Polytechnic crusade.
A source who witnessed the crusade tagged ‘Annual Christian Festival’ held on Friday, 3rd of August, 2018, inside the institution’s sports complex, confirmed that Apostle Suleman while praying after delivering an exhaustive lecture to the assembly, called out from the audience ‘a boy who was just duped of his school fees’.
The source said that the boy could not make it to the crusade venue because he actually was just robbed of the school fees given by his parents to pay. “You would think the man of God knew him because of the aptness with which he called his case,” the source notes.
The prophet of God later asked that the boy be brought to the crusade ground from his lodge where he’d taken refuge since he lost the money.
Announcing a gift of N100, 000 cash for the buy, Apostle Suleman who promised more, situates that it is his natural passion ‘to make it easy to meet the pressing needs of individuals God places in my path, and my basis for giving is built upon the Word of God in Proverbs 31:8&9, “Speak up for the people who have no voice, for the rights of all the down-and-outs. Speak out for justice. Stand up for the poor and the weak.”
Apostle Suleman and his team have arrived Ukraine for the next leg of ‘The Supernatural’ conference billed to take place between Monday, August 6th and Tuesday, August 7th, 2018.

POLITICS: "Fifth Columnists Forced Me To Exit APC" ...Saraki

Efforts To Keep Me In APC Came Too Late--Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has hailed the efforts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and the Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo for making efforts to broker peace in the party.
Saraki said this in a statement which he issued to newsmen immediately after he announced his resignation from the ruling party.

The Senate President said “The emergence of a new national party executives a few weeks ago held out some hopes, however slender. The new party chairman has swung into action and did his best alongside some of the Governors of APC and His Excellency, the Vice President.

“I thank them for all their great efforts to save the day and achieve reconciliation. Even though I thought these efforts were coming late in the day, but seeing the genuine commitment of these gentlemen, I began to think that perhaps it was still possible to reconsider the situation.

“However, as I have realized all along, there are some others in the party leadership hierarchy, who did not think dialogue was the way forward and therefore chose to play the fifth columnists.

“These individuals went to work and ensured that they scuttled the great efforts and the good intentions of these aforementioned leaders of the party. Perhaps, had these divisive forces not thrown the cogs in the wheel at the last minutes, and in a manner that made it impossible to sustain any trust in the process, the story today would have been different.”

Corruption war turned to weapon
According to Saraki, President Buhari’s anti-corruption war has become a weapon to silence the opposition.

whereby every dissent from the legislature was framed as an affront on the executive or as part of an agenda to undermine the government itself.

"The populist notion of anti-corruption became a ready weapon for silencing any form of dissent and for framing even principled objection as ‘corruption fighting back’,” he added.

The Senate President also revealed that he is leaving the APC to start a new political journey with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Also, the Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has dumped the APC for the PDP.
