A
video clip is currently circulating in the social media alleging a plot by the
Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to restrict the activities of prominent
men of God from Nigeria.
A
message in the video quoted ‘a source inside Aso Rock’ as saying there was a
plan by the government to set up an agency tagged ‘National Faith Relations
& Regulation Commission (NFRRC)’ allegedly designed to monitor and regulate
church operations. A former police inspector general, Suleiman Abba, has
allegedly been penciled to head the agency.
It
was revealed that three outspoken Nigerian pastors were the first target of the
plan; Bishop David Oyedepo, Apostle Suleman and Pastor Paul Enenche, “who would
be accused for engaging in hate speeches.”
According
to the video, the agency would also be tasked to regulate church messages
against ‘hate speeches’ and ‘scrutinize churches’ accounts’ as well as
restricting pastor from maintaining foreign accounts’.
“It
is Satan's warfare against the Church, which is the primary subject of
Revelation 12 and 13”, notes a Lagos based cleric who confirmed the message video
was real.
Around
the world today, Christians are protesting alleged victimization and rising
genocide that they suggest ought to provoke global alarm. In recent years the
violent oppression of Christian minorities has become the norm in
Muslim-majority nations stretching from West Africa and the Middle East to
South Asia and Oceania.
